What treatment approaches does Bethany use?

The primary treatment approaches Bethany uses are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and person-centered therapy.  Bethany uses a trauma informed approach. Bethany also uses a variety of other approaches to meet the client where they are.   Faith based counseling is available upon request.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.  It is has very concrete skills that can help improve relationships and quality of life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of behavioral treatment and it helps people problem-solve. CBT helps the individual understand the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and how they effect behaviors.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person Centered therapy shift the focus from the counselor to the client.  In person centered therapy, the client is empowered to take control of the therapeutic process and guide therapy.  It helps clients recognize that they are capable of reaching their full potential regardless of their mental health struggles.

Trauma Informed

The belief that an individual is more likely then not to have experienced some sort of trauma.   Trauma informed care recognizes and acknowledges the symptoms and the effect they may have on one's life.
